Were On Twitter !

So I thought i'd make sure that the twitter account was active. Was really easy to get it trending on twitter, through the use of my other account. Again I have made sure that I have used the same theme as on this blog on the background as well as using it for the profile picture, for now.

Home Page

This is a screenshot of my Homepage of the bands website, this is the second ancillary task of which I have chosen to complete. Again keeping it fairly simple with the colour scheme kept on this blog and on my digipak. Before completing this task I looked at some existing examples of band websites from my genre, of which included Kasabian and The Kooks.

Website Homepage 'The Kooks'

The second of my two webpages I have chosen to take screenshots of is 'The Kooks'. I decided to use this site as a comparison as it shows a different style of indie's approach to their look. This website is a lot more simple and plain in terms of material on the website as you can see from the screenshots taken below.

Same again you can see the Facebook, Twitter and MySpace follow options, which shows that there is an advertising sense behind the websites in order to get the band out their with the audience. Making sure that they come first, letting them know the information they need to know.

Website Homepage 'KASABIAN'

The first of the two websites I looked at first was the Kasabian one because its the one most specific to my style of genre. The screenshots below show the websites 'Homepage'.

As you can see they use a very minimalistic approach on the website when it comes to text, this is due to the fact there being plenty of tabs on the toolbar for the user to navigate wherever they need to go. Also another big thing now of which is a necessity when it comes to a bands websites is the 'Follow' on Facebook or Twitter buttons located on the 'Homepage'.

Clothing used in music video

When coming up with the ideas of clothing for my music video, I had to take into consideration the background lighting and set up of my video.

Because of the use of blacklights and smoke machines, I thought sticking with mainly white colours would be a plain but exagerated idea because it would give out a blue gaussian blur, of which you can see when the two people in the video are dancing, which gave out an aura as it were around the two characters.

Digipak

This is my digipak for my ancillary task for 'The Big Boys Club'. I used Photoshop CS6 in order to design the digipak, because I am fairly developed with using Photoshop and can work my way around the programme very easily. I started off my digipak by using two templates of which was a blank white digipak and a blank white disk, displayed below.

When I opened the two images in photoshop, I copied the disk on to the same page as the digipak. From here I scaled the CD in order to fit the disc mount. I then had to create my 'Big Boys Club' Title for the cover which was through the used of standard fonts available on Photoshop. After this I transferred one of my screenshots from my music video 'Button to Button' of the lips. Adjusted the hue, saturation, brightness and contrast in order to make it blend with the black and red colour scheme. I thought by keeping the CD cover simple, it would look really attractive for my target audience and I got a massive response from how well it worked.

My Video

This is the finished product of my 'hardest button to button' music video. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it, feel free to leave any comments, open to criticism. There were a few issues with uploading the video, in terms of timing, however after uploading it 3 times, there a few frames of footage that are out of time, however apart from that, most things are in time... ENJOY!!
